I am announcing my candidacy for the Office of Sheriff for Dawson County. I have lived in Dawson County for 13 years and I have seen the county go through many changes. Some of those changes were good and some were not so good. However, I am not going to criticize anyone.
I believe that I will make a good choice as Sheriff because I have the best interest of our community deep within my heart. I have watched our county grow over the years and I am proud to be a resident.
Growing up, my father taught me one very important lesson. No matter how good we think we are doing, we can always do better. We should always strive to set our goals higher each time and when we achieve those goals we should set our goals higher than before.
If elected, that will be my approach to running the Sheriff’s Office. I will set my goals high and work endlessly to achieve them. I will work hard to serve and protect all the citizens of our county. I am deeply committed to providing the best law enforcement services to our citizens and those who visit Dawson County.
As your elected Sheriff, I make the following pledges:
1. I Pledge to perform my duties as Sheriff in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia with integrity, honesty, and dedication.
2. I Pledge to enforce the laws while preserving the Constitutional Rights of our citizens, ensuring their Freedoms and Liberties are respected in accordance with all amendments to the Constitution.
3. I Pledge to be a Public Servant and implement a management style within the Sheriff’s Office that is professional, open to the public, and fiscally responsible.
4. I Pledge to be accountable for my actions, and will also hold my employees to the same high standards.
5. I pledge to develop the Sheriff’s Office into a model full service law enforcement agency that our citizens and employees can truly be proud of.
But most importantly, I promise to never forget why I am doing it. I will be doing it for the people of Dawson County.
I will be doing it because the citizens put their faith and trust in me and I will never betray that trust.
